Funny / An Amazing lady/ Life is ??

Hi There,

A worrying thought for 2012 ...

10 years ago Bob Hope died
5 years ago Johnny Cash died
A couple of months ago Steve Jobs died
A few weeks ago Jimmy Saville died
Now we have no Hope, no Cash, no Jobs and nobody left to Fix It.

Let's hope nothing happens to Member of Parliament - Ed Balls!

Next time we consider our age and desires to do something, remember this video of a 94 yr. old lady.

This woman is absolutely amazing! She met her husband at a roller skating rink when she was young. She really loved to dance, but if you were single, roller skating was the next best thing. She and her
husband skated for many years. When he died of Parkinson's in Arizona, she moved to Florida to be near her sisters and decided to take ballroom dancing lessons. This was the beginning of a new career for her. (She hated living in a retirement community and listening to all the complaints of her peers, so she took up dancing!) Enjoy!

Kate said...: Thanks for commenting Lynnis, it seems as though FB has taken over from blogging these days and 'comments ' are like hen's teeth these days and just as rare.

I thought ladies of my generation would like to see someone dancing the light fantastic - Glad you enjoyed it - Your body ain't any older than mine and if an ancient 'meno' nutter like me can manage it - well?? you never really know you can't till you try! Besides it would be fun to have a go !

I FOUND A PENNY TODAY ...

I found a penny today Just laying on the ground But it’s not just a penny this little coin I’ve found. Found pennies come from Heaven That’s what my Grandpa told me,He said, “Angels toss them down.” Oh, how I loved that story. He said, “When an angel misses you They toss a penny down, Sometimes just to cheer you up To make a smile out of your frown.”We all have angels looking over us,no matter how young or old we might be. Maybe that penny laying on the floor was put there specially. So don’t pass by that penny When you’re feeling blue,It may be a penny from Heaven That an Angel has tossed to you. Now pass this on to people you care about And who 'you' feel are Angels to you - I just did... An Angel is now watching over you.

The Writing on the Wall ...

A weary mother returned from the store, Lugging groceries through the kitchen door.Awaiting her arrival was her 8 year old son, Anxious to relate what his younger brother had done. While I was out playing and Dad was on a call, T.J. took his crayons and wrote on the wall It's on the new paper you just hung in the den. I told him you'd be mad at having to do it again.

She let out a moan and furrowed her brow.Where is your little brother right now? She emptied her arms and with a purposeful stride, She marched to his closet where he had gone to hide. She called his full name as she entered his room. He trembled with fear--he knew that meant doom For the next ten minutes, she ranted and raved about the expensive wallpaper and how she had saved. Lamenting all the work it would take to repair, She condemned his actions and total lack of care. The more she scolded, the madder she got, then stomped from his room, totally distraught She headed for the den to confirm her fears.

When she saw the wall, her eyes flooded with tears. The message she read pierced her soul with a dart. It said, I love Mommy, surrounded by a heart. Well, the wallpaper remained, just as she found it - With an empty picture frame hung to surround it.
A reminder to her, and indeed to all, Take time to read the handwriting on the wall.

Childhood Doesn't Wait ...

I was sitting on a bench while in a nearby Mall, when I noticed a young mother with two children who were small - the youngest one was whining "Pick me up," I heard him beg. But the mother's face grew angry as the child clung to her leg. "Don't hang on me" she shouted as she pushed his hands away, I wish I'd had the courage to go up to her and say..."

"The time will come too quickly when those little arms that tug, won't ask you to hold them or won't freely give a hug". The day will sneak up subtly, just as it did with me, when you can't recall the last time that your child sat upon your knee". Like those sacred pre-dawn feedings when we cherished time alone.

Our babies grow and leave behind those special times we've known. "So when your child comes to you with a book that you can share, or asks that you would tuck him in and help him say his prayer... when he comes to sit and chat or would like to take a walk, before you answer that you can't 'cause there's no time to talk." Remember that years go by too quickly and that childhood doesn't wait."

Take every opportunity, if one should slip away reach hard to get it back again, don't wait another day." I watched that mother walk away, her child followed near, I hope she'll pick him up before her chances disappear.
